Handle repairs and alterations in the right order
Smaller building projects can still involve several trades, and the order matters. We assess what must be opened, repaired or altered before surface preparation and finishing begin. Our general building work can bring together carpentry, joinery, plastering, rendering, painting and traditional stonework where the project calls for them. This is useful when one change affects surrounding walls, floors or fitted items. Instead of treating each symptom separately, we plan the connected work needed to leave a sound and properly finished result.

Match the trade to the job in front of us
We complete site carpentry for structural or fitted timber elements and bench joinery where more detailed components are required. Staircase work can also form part of an alteration. Plaster prepares internal walls and ceilings for decoration, while render protects and finishes suitable external surfaces. Painting and traditional stonework may complete the repair or improvement. By sequencing structural changes, service alterations and surface work, we avoid decorating something that still needs to be cut open.

Frequently asked questions
Can one project include several building trades?
Yes. Many alterations need connected carpentry, plastering, rendering or decorating. We agree the required scope and put the tasks in an order that avoids one trade damaging another's completed work.
Do you complete both carpentry and joinery?
We can include site carpentry, bench joinery and staircase work where required by the project. The right approach depends on whether the item is structural, fitted on site or made as a detailed component.
Can damaged surfaces simply be plastered over?
Not always. Loose material, moisture or movement should be investigated before a new finish is applied. We assess the condition and prepare the background so the plaster or render has a suitable base.
